Born and raised in New York City, he developed his love for the entertainment arts at an early age. He and his wife are still boosters of their local high school arts, even though their youngest child graduated over 7 years ago. He and his family moved to Orange County some 17 years ago
Art was a pioneer in the computer graphics industry (since 1976). He is still a consultant to that industry, currently under contract with Hayzlett & Associates to form a Washington, DC based Print Council to promote the value of Print Media, sort of a “Got Milk” campaign for Print.
Art is a seasoned, hands-on executive who has held leadership positions as COO, CFO, CAO and President for start-ups, acquisitions, and in turnaround situations. He has experience in both the public and private sector. He has been the key administrative officer in two Internet-based start-ups. Mediabus was conceived to connect DVD players to the Internet. Art set up infrastructure for 16 employees and then prepared it for sale. Webprint was another start-up requiring complete infrastructure. As VP and Chief Administration Officer he grew it from founding to 40 people, establishing accounting systems, benefits package and an aggressive recruiting program, also preparing it for sale. Commuting from Southern California, he has run company operations in Atlanta, Australia and San Francisco and managed relationships with companies in England and Japan.
For nine years, Art served as a publicly elected school board member of the Merrick Union Free School District in Merrick, N.Y. He served as Vice President and President of the board. He has also served on the boards of non-profit religious and trade organizations. Recently he served as the acting Executive Director of the Los Angeles affiliate of Sales and Marketing Executives International to help them bridge the gap from an old administration to new.
